Several parts of the governorate of Alexandria witnessed the accumulation of rainwater in the streets tonight, Saturday, after the renewed strong storms, which were accompanied by lightning and a drop in temperatures.
The images in the eastern parts of Alexandria and Khaled Ibn Al-Walid road show the high level of water in the streets until it entered the doors of some houses and shops.
Since last night, the coastal city has been exposed to a wave of bad weather, Alexandria, which is the worst of this winter, which caused the interruption of studies in schools and universities and the cancellation of the opening ceremony of the Festival of Alexandria Cinema.
Major General Mohamed Al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, announced to raise the maximum level of preparedness and emergency in all executive bodies, to face the wave of bad weather to which the governorate is exposed.
The sewerage company, in coordination with the neighborhoods, the drinking water companies and Nahdet Misr, paid for around 180 cars to clean rainwater accumulations from the streets, tunnels and highways.
For his part, Reda Al-Ghandour, spokesman for the Alexandria Port Authority, confirmed that the movement of ships and boats and the shipping and handling of containers continued in a normal and regular manner despite bad weather.
