The Syndicate of Theatrical Professions of Egypt recently issued an official statement on the crisis of the artist “Muhammad Ramadan” that arose during the last hours after several photographs of him circulated on social networks, accompanied by several well-known Israeli personalities, to know: the Israeli actor “Elad Tesla” and the singer “Omir” Adam “and the footballer Dia Sabaa.
This sparked much controversy and criticism against Muhammad Ramadan, and many observers expressed dissatisfaction with this behavior.
The statement reads: “In the last hours, the Trade Union Council followed with all interest and responsibility from a patriotic and national position that represented the masses of Egyptian artists and creators what happened to one of the union members in an artistic meeting in an Arab sister city and his taking of photographs with artists belonging to the usurping entity.
He continued: “The Council of the Representative Professions Union, in dealing with the details of this controversial incident, first confirms the full and complete support for the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and the union’s commitment to the collective position of Egyptian artists and their adherence permanent to the positions and decisions of the Egyptian and Arab artistic unions regarding such behavior. “
He added: “In this position, the Council is fully aware of the difference between the official treaties to which the Arab governments adhere and the popular, cultural and artistic stance on the issue of normalization … noting that the Trade Union Council is reserves the right to take the actions and decisions it deems appropriate in light of the internal rules and laws that govern the union’s work ”.
The statement concluded: “We have called an emergency meeting with the Technical Union for tomorrow, Monday, 11/23/2020, at five in the afternoon, to make critical decisions in this regard.”
