The last hours experienced a crisis, which was why it was raised about the distribution of invitations for the Final of the CAF Champions League.

The Cairo International Stadium will host Zamalek and Al-Ahly’s match in the Champions League final on November 27.

Media reports indicated that 300 invitations were allocated to each club out of 2000 invitations to attend the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match, provided that the Ministry of Sports would receive multiple invitations together with “K” and the Football Association.

The Egyptian Football Association announced, in a joint statement with its African counterpart, that the match will be played without the presence of fans.

Zamalek is protesting

The Zamalek Club Board of Directors issued an official statement to clarify the position of the invitations to attend the final of the African Champions League against Al-Ahly.

In his statement, Zamalek said: “Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, the Egyptian interior minister, appreciated that 1,000 invitations were distributed to each club among the members of the General Assembly to attend the final match.”

Zamalek added: “The representative of the Zamalek club was surprised at the security meeting to coordinate the match with the presence of the so-called Mohamed Fadl, the former Al-Ahly player and member of the five-year committee that temporarily manages the Egyptian Football Association, And since the party is continental overseen by the African Union, Mohamed Fadl’s attendance at the meeting is the inclusion of a five-party party. It is not subject to its regulation and therefore its presence is illegal. “

Zamalek added: “However, we surprised him by seizing 500 invitations, and he claimed that 250 of them belong to the Football Association, although there is no association at all. He also seized 250 invitations under the pretext that the will send to the African Union, although all the invited gentlemen of the African Union are not more than 50 respectable personalities whose presence in Egypt is honored. “

The statement highlighted: “We were also surprised that the 1000 invitations belonging to the board of the Zamalek Club were obtained by Mr. Ahmed Al Sheikh, Executive Director of the Ministry of Youth, without any legal justification, as if they were his guardianship in the board of directors, which allowed His Excellency the Minister of the Interior to hand them over to the club’s board of directors according to an official report of the General Assembly for distribution. The Zamalek club is one of the fans of the club. “

The statement stated: “The tragedy is that at a time when Muhammad Fadl received the 500 invitation to distribute them with his knowledge, and they will certainly go to his old club, and at the same time that Ahmed Al Sheikh received the 1000 tickets for the members of the General Assembly of the Zamalek Club, the board of directors of the Zamalek Club was its part and the members of its general assembly 300. A working member is only 15 tickets, which is what His Excellency the Minister of the Interior did not intend with his decision and We also believe that Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, will not be satisfied with this unprecedented absurdity.

Zamalek concluded his statement: “Zamalek Club therefore presents this protest to the Secretary General of the African Union and to the Minister of Youth and Sports of Egypt.”

Anger at Al-Ahly

An official source from the Al-Ahly Club affirmed that there is a state of anger over what happened regarding the invitations to the summit.

The source said: “A state of outrage has gripped Al-Ahly after the Sports Minister, who was unjustified with regard to invitations to attend the final of the tournament.”

The source added: “The Minister of Sports allocated 25 invitations to Al-Ahly, including members of the club’s board of directors and executive management, and the same for Zamalek Club, while the minister allocated 250 invitations to the Egyptian Association of Soccer and 205 invitations to the African Union, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports allocated 1,500 invitations. “

The source concluded: “Security agreed that 2000 fans would attend the final of the CAF Champions League and that the ministry had 1500 invitations, which specifically angered Al-Ahly.”
