Former Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, in his book “The Arab League Years”, revealed secrets about the first Gulf War and the reason for his yelling at the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

In his book, which was published by the Egyptian newspaper Al-Shorouk, Moussa explained that he had met with Saddam Hussein on several occasions in an attempt to bring the two sides to the negotiating table, how he met with the Iraqi president and he tried to convince the latter to accept the return of the international inspectors to Iraq.

He said: After greeting and asking about health and thanks for the hospitality and some general phrases, I spoke to Saddam Hussein in a serious tone. Attendees said: “It is the fiercest accent an Arab official ever spoke to Saddam Hussein.”

saying:

“During the dialogue, I lost control of my nerves and yelled in his face, listen, stay, Mr. President, theorizing will not benefit Iraq and it will not benefit you, frankly. I am saying that Iraq is subject to a severe blow from The United States, the world’s first great power, do you know that your country is exposed to this imminent danger? ” Are you aware of your responsibility to spare Iraq from these scourges?

Saddam Hussein replied to Amr Moussa: “I am his delegate to speak on behalf of Iraq. He called America and Kofi Annan,” indicating that he had made his contacts, but unfortunately it appears that the decision to war has been made.
