The Prosecutor’s Office: The father of Aweys Al-Rawi denied the police assault

The Prosecutor’s Office, Counselor, Hamada Al-Sawy, confirmed that the death of the young Owais Al-Rawi, in Al-Awamiya, in Luxor province is being investigated.

A statement clarified, this Tuesday, that the Public Ministry authorized the detention of the deceased and other members of his family for the interrogation of the terrorist crimes attributed to them in light of the findings of the investigations of the “National Security Sector”, since the “Public Ministry” was notified of his death after his attempt to resist the police force that went to his residence and his family. They are required to be captured, with prior authorization from the Public Ministry, by using an automatic firearm that was placed near their body, with the intention of avoiding the execution of the permit.

The Public Ministry went to examine his body and appointed a forensic doctor to perform an autopsy before the burial, then questioned his brother, who was captured during the execution of the permit, and the police officer also questioned the commander of the commission that was assigned to execute the permission of the Public Ministry, and heard the testimony of the father of the deceased.

Therefore, it was clear that the statements of the three were different regarding the circumstances of the death incident, for which the Public Ministry chose not to reveal the results of their statements in its statement in order to preserve the integrity of the investigations until its conclusion, and ensure access to the truth, even when the nullity of what is circulating on social networks and various news sites about the circumstances of the incident is confirmed. Where the father of the deceased has denied in the investigations of the Public Ministry that there has been any aggression against him by the agents or persons responsible for executing the permission of the aforementioned Public Ministry, in contrast to the falsely denounced complaint of this infraction .

The Public Ministry called on everyone to stick to what it issues only and exclusively about this incident and other events, and to avoid rumors and false news that inevitably damage public peace and negatively affect the integrity of the investigations.
