Ahmed Ould Yahya, president of the Mauritanian Football Association, announced his intention to run for the presidency of the African Football Confederation (CAF) in its next round.
Ould Yahya, through his account on the social network Twitter, published indications of his intention to run for a sufficient presidential seat after a series of consultations.
The President of the Mauritanian Federation said: “In the interest of promoting African football, and after deep reflection and intensive consultations, I decided to present my candidacy for the presidency of the African Football Confederation.”
The African Union elections will be held during the General Assembly to be held in the Kingdom of Morocco next March.
Ould Yahya is the second candidate for the presidency of the African Union on Monday, after Patrice Mutsipby, president of the South African Sundowns Club, had previously announced his candidacy for the seat.
It should be noted that Ould Yahya became the fourth candidate for the presidency of the CAF with Motsebby, and before them Ahmed Ahmed, current president of CAF, and Jacques Anuma, president of the Ivorian federation.
