Venus in late April 2020 reaches the height of its luminosity as the “evening star” during this year, and is easily observed towards the western horizon with the naked eye from Monday, shortly after sunset, as that at first glance will look like a brilliant diamond hanging in the sky.
It is known that Venus is always classified as the third brightest body after the sun and the moon, but today Monday it will outdo itself as it will be brighter almost 3 times in what is called (the most amount of illumination), and you need a telescope to see the planet’s disk and its changing phases which are an ideal opportunity to photograph .
And the Astronomical Society in Jeddah revealed in a report that the flower’s (greatest amount of illumination) occurs approximately 36 days after the planet reached the maximum (late) elongation that occurred on (March 24, 2020), and approximately 36 days before flower reaches lowest conjugation on (June 3, 2020).
Ironically, Venus is at its brightest when its disk is only 25% illuminated by sunlight and is not fully illuminated, and the reason is that the planet is closer to Earth than it is today..
Venus has been decorating the night sky since August 14, 2019, and will be leaving it on June 3, 2020. But for the next few days at dusk and early at night, the planet shines its brightest in the sky.
