Eid Marazeeq, the Al-Ahly Bank coach, announced his resignation from the team’s coach a few days after being promoted to the Egyptian Football League.
Al-Ahly Bank managed to snatch the card to qualify for the Premier League, for the first time in its history, after leading the first group, “Upper Egypt”, in the final round of the second section competition.
During exclusive remarks, Laila Koura, Marazeeq said: “I had a session with the board of directors of the National Bank club recently and resigned as the team’s coach.”
He added: “I will not announce the reasons for the resignation at this time. All the best for the club and its board of directors.”
And on receiving other offers: “I will resolve my position in the next term … No one refuses to work in the Premier League.”
On the other hand, Yallakora contacted Major General Ashraf Nassar, president of the club, to ask him about the reasons for the coach’s departure after his historic achievement with the team.
Nassar said: “Eid has tendered his resignation as the club’s coach. It appears he has other offers from Premier League clubs.”
He added: “We will hold a ceremony of honor for him during the next term, in appreciation for the role he played with the team in climbing Al Mumtaz.”
When asked about the coach nominated to train the National Bank, he said: “This file and the official announcement will be resolved during the next week.”
