The Foreign Ministry confirmed that it continues to closely monitor the incident of the murder of Egyptian citizen Ashri Muhammad Hassan in Riyadh, as Dr. Ihab Abdel Hamid, Egyptian consul in Riyadh, visited the Forensic Medicine Authority this Sunday morning. .

In a press release, the Foreign Ministry stated that the Egyptian Consul in Riyadh met with the Director of the Forensic Medicine Authority to confirm the interest of the Egyptian authorities in the case and expedite the completion of the necessary procedures for the transport of the dead body to the motherland as soon as possible.

The consul also visited the Egyptian citizen injured in the accident, Hussein Osama Mohamed Hassan, in the hospital and met with the doctors who followed his condition and with the director of the hospital, to check his health.

The ministry indicated that the consulate is in continuous contact with the relatives of the deceased to inform them about the course of the case, the procedures that the consulate will take in due course, and the steps to follow to complete the investigations and refer them. the case to the judiciary.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday that it had received the news of the murder of the Egyptian citizen Ashari Muhammad Hassan, and the injury of the Egyptian citizen Hussein Sami Muhammad Hassan, last Friday, in the city of Riyadh, offering its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.

Ambassador Amr Mahmoud Abbas, assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular and Egyptian Affairs abroad, stated in a press release on Saturday that immediately after the crime occurred, the Egyptian Consulate General in Riyadh took steps to follow up to the investigation. and identify the circumstances of the accident, and ensured to assist his representative in coordination with the Saudi authorities concerned.

The ministry added that Saudi authorities managed to arrest the perpetrator shortly after the crime occurred, took legal action against him and listened to witnesses to the incident. The Consulate General in Riyadh is also closely monitoring the health status of those infected. citizen.
