Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, said that today’s meeting with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi included a review of the State Ministry’s plan to deal with the second wave of Coronavirus, especially in regards to the supply of medical supplies and medications to treat Corona symptoms.

Zayed added, during a speech via the “Skype” app of the “Al-Hekaya” program on the “mbc Egypt” channel on Saturday night, that today’s meeting also witnessed a review of the supply plan. of Corona vaccines, and the negotiation of the state with the companies that produce these vaccines, as well as the manufacturing plan. He explained that the Egyptian Drug Authority today issued the go-ahead to start marketing the vaccine from the Chinese company, Sinopharma, of which Egypt received the first shipment last month, after undergoing four tests, adding that tomorrow morning. tomorrow the ministry receives the official license.

He indicated that the first shipment of the “AstraZenka” vaccine had started in the third or fourth week of January, and that financial negotiations and the supply agreement had been completed last Thursday.

He mentioned that the contract for the supply of the vaccine “AstraZenka” was approved by the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Justice, noting the meeting of the ministry with the US company Pfizer, as well as with its subsidiary in the Emirate of Dubai.

The Minister of Health and Population indicated that the laboratories of the Egyptian Medicines Authority are approved by the World Health Organization, and explained that the results of the analyzes carried out in the laboratories of the Egyptian Medicines Authority are safe for the circulation.

He said that there is no shortage of oxygen in hospitals, noting that we have a strategic oxygen stock and the number of oxygen tanks in hospitals has increased.

“Zayed” added that oxygen is always available, noting that the “tank” fill period is normal, during which the supply is assured before the “tank” filling process.
