Dr. Hala Zaida, Minister of Health and Population, visited Fever Hospital and Sadr al-Abbasiya Hospital, as part of following up on the ministry’s plan to tackle the new Corona virus.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, adviser to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesperson for the ministry, said that the minister’s visit is carried out as part of a series of field visits to hospitals of chest and fever in the Republic level, as it is the first line to receive suspected cases of the new Corona virus, noting that the minister was interested in an ongoing team review and development work to transform these two hospitals into 35 fever hospitals and issued in the provinces of the Republic, which are preparing to gradually become isolation hospitals for people with coronavirus infection.

Mujahid said the minister began her journey with a visit to Abbasid Fever Hospital and followed the paths of patients within the hospital, either for cases receiving treatment services or suspected cases of the virus, starting from reception, passing smears to the places of waiting and residence, and in this sense, the minister directed the expansion of the reception areas and the installation of tents. He noted that the Minister reviewed the treatment protocols for suspected cases of HIV infection, and the tests and analyzes that are being carried out, emphasizing the application of all infection control standards and taking all preventive measures.

He added that the Minister emphasized the monitoring of periodic cleaning work and the safe disposal of waste, in addition to providing all means of comfort for suspected cases within the hospital by providing healthy meals, health facilities and a review of security and cleaning companies in this, and comfortable waiting places until the results of the analyzes appear. .

During the tour, the Minister made sure to visit several nurses infected with the Corona virus in the hospital, and I spoke with them, pointing out that their efforts are a medal on our chest, and confirmed that the Ministry provides them with all the means of support. , and said: «The State will not forget the sacrifices faced by Corona Virus and Patient Service.

Mujahid stated that the minister continued her journey inspecting the Al-Abbasiya Thoracic Hospital, listened to the patients present at the hospital and their families, and ordered Dr. Mustafa Ghanima, head of the therapeutic medicine sector, to follow up on a case. for arthritis and transfer her to the Nasser Institute Hospital with an ambulance equipped to receive medical services.

He noted that the minister was eager during her tour to review stocks of drugs and medical and preventive supplies and made sure there was enough stock as she also reviewed ongoing equipment and development work to increase the hospital’s efficiency, and quickly directed the completion of all work.
