The Minister of Education added that study in the new academic year will begin on October 17, 2020, and international schools will be able to start classes on September 15, 2020.
Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, chaired the meeting of the Supreme Council of Pre-University Education (via video conference) to discuss the decisions on the organization of studies and vacations for the next academic year 2020-2021, which will begin on October 17, 2020 and will continue until June 24, 2021 (the actual study period 33 weeks).
The council agreed that the study will begin in the new academic year 2020-2021, on Saturday, October 17, 2020, and will end on Thursday, June 24, 2021, provided that the mid-year vacation begins on Saturday, February 6, 2021 and continue until Thursday, February 18, 2021 (for a period of 15 days).
According to the decisions, the first semester of the new academic year 2020-2021 begins on Saturday, October 17, 2020 and continues until February 5, 2021 (actual school days are 93 days), and the second semester begins on February 20 2021 and continues until June 17, 2021. (The actual duration of the study is 96 days).
The council also agreed that the first semester exams would begin on Saturday, January 23, 2021 and that the second-semester exams for the transfer classes and preparatory certificate would begin on Saturday, May 15, 2021 and that the technical diploma exams would be held.
