The Minister of Education announces a plan to reduce class sizes and the number of days to attend the new school year tomorrow

Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, will hold a press conference on Tuesday to announce all the details of the school system in the new academic year.

During the conference, Shawky unveiled the plan of the ministries of education and health regarding the return of studies in light of the precautionary measures to face the Corona virus, given the fears of the second wave of spread of the virus.

Shawky plans to announce the number of days of attendance of students in early childhood classes (kindergarten in its first and second stage, as well as students in first, second and third grade of primary school “), who had previously been declared by the minister as the category most in need of direct learning, and it is not appropriate for them to rely on distance learning methods.

Shawky also unveils the ministry’s plan to reduce class sizes and achieve social distancing, as well as the plan to reduce school attendance days for elementary school students for grades three through three. as well as the curriculum in the secondary stage, which is carried out for the first time completely electronically via tablets for students in first to third grade. High school after the end of the secondary education system with its old system.

Shawky will announce the electronic and non-electronic learning methods available to those without the Internet, as well as announce the position of printing textbooks and addressing the issue of closing the screen and replacing it with remedial classes within schools.

According to the schedule set for the new academic year 2020/2021 and approved by the Supreme Council of Pre-university Education, the study begins on Saturday, October 17, 2020 and ends on Thursday, June 24, 2021, and the mid-course holidays begin on Saturday, February 6, 2021 and runs until Thursday, February 18, 2021 (for a period of 15 days).

The first semester of the new 2020-2021 academic year begins on Saturday, October 17, 2020 and continues through February 5, 2021 (actual school days are 93 days), and the second semester begins on February 20, 2021 and continues until June 17, 2021 (study period) 96 real days).
