Dutchman Jorginho Wijnaldum, a professional in the ranks of Liverpool FC, interacted with the news that linked him to signing for Barcelona during the current summer transfer period.
In his first comment on this news, the 29-year-old said during the press conference that precedes his country’s national team’s match against Poland scheduled for Friday night, for the first round of Group A competitions of the first category of the European League of Nations, said: “All this news is just hearsay. I don’t know, I can’t say anything about it.”
During the last days, Dutch and Spanish media reported that Barcelona’s new coach, Ronald Koeman, wanted to sign his compatriot Vinaldum, to reinforce the Blaugrana midfield.
Wijnaldum was one of Liverpool’s most prominent players in recent years, helping to win the Champions League title in 2019 and the English Premier League in the 2019/2020 season.
The Dutch international made 47 appearances for the English national team in all competitions last season, in which he scored six goals.
Notably, Vinaldom’s contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of next year.
