The final statement emphasized that “foreign interference” in the Libyan crisis “fueled the conflict.”

For his part, the representative of the Libyan parliament said in the dialogue: “We hope for a united and stable Libya,” adding that “Morocco has made it easier for the two delegations to reach understandings.”

He stressed that “the talks witnessed harmony between the parties”, expressing optimism that “this round will be the beginning of the process of a political solution that will put an end to the current situation and ensure a better life for future generations.”

As for the representative of the Supreme Council of Libya, he said: “We found a lot of consensus on important issues with the delegation of Parliament”, noting that there are “common denominators”. He added that these consensuses “were previously thought to be insurmountable.”

He also thanked “the countries and organizations that facilitated and made efforts to find a formula for a comprehensive solution to the Libyan crisis.”

For his part, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said that “several international organizations welcomed Bouznika’s dialogue.”

And he considered that the Libyans have demonstrated their ability to find solutions to their problems without external tutelage, adding: “Congratulations on what the Libyan dialogue achieved.” Bourita also stressed that what the Libyan dialogue achieved today “contributes to the unification of Libyan institutions.”

He considered that the understandings reached by the delegations of the Presidential Council and the Libyan Parliament “represent concrete decisions and understandings”, adding that the two councils are the solid core of any solution or consensus in Libya.
