Spanish club Barcelona entered into strong negotiations with French club Olympique Lyon to include Dutch national team star Memphis Depay in the current summer transfer period.
Juninho, sporting director for French club Olympique Lyonnais, said Spanish club Barcelona had not formally contacted the club to ask about Memphis Depay.
Juninho added in televised statements that Olympique Lyon had not received anything from Barcelona about Memphis Depay or inquiries about the player’s price.
Olympique Lyon’s sporting director said Memphis Depay will remain at the club as he will be happy to help the team have a good season.
Juninho indicated that all the players who received offers have already left the ranks of Olympique Lyonnais, based on their desire for a new professional experience.
The name of the star of the Dutch team, Memphis Depay, has been associated with a move to Barcelona, based on the wish of the new coach of the Catalan team, Ronald Koeman.
Barcelona’s new coach, Ronald Koeman, had previously supervised the Dutch national team and was well known for French club Olympique Lyon star Memphis Depay and his great potential at the stadium.
