Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah said that the Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait was summoned, at noon on Friday, to the Foreign Ministry, according to the Kuwait News Agency.

This came as a result of statements issued last night, which were described as “offensive”, on social media, by the Egyptian Deputy Minister of Manpower.

The Deputy Foreign Minister conveyed Kuwait’s condemnation, resentment and rejection of “such abuses by a country official targeting Kuwait and its symbols.”

Al-Jarallah added that, “The Ministry has officially requested the Egyptian authorities to initiate and take legal action immediately against the abuses that were broadcast and to refer them for investigation in order to find out the circumstances and reasons behind their broadcast in preparation to take the appropriate legal measures to ensure that these shameful practices are deterred and fraternal relations between the two countries are subsequently reestablished. Which I was subjected to in terms of prejudice. “

The deputy minister added that “he informed the ambassador that the ministry will follow up on the measures to be taken by the Egyptian authorities and, in light of them, will preserve their right to take the necessary measures to deter these offenses against Kuwait and its symbols, and restore the fraternal relationship between the two countries and ensure that they are not harmed. “

The Egyptian ambassador expressed his rejection and denunciation of these abuses against the State of Kuwait and its symbols, highlighting that he had received a call on Friday from officials of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through which they confirmed the determination of the Egyptian authorities to take the necessary actions against the person responsible for these abuses.

Neither the Kuwaiti News Agency nor any of the Kuwaiti newspapers mentioned the text of these statements, but this summons came after an Egyptian doctor was beaten and insulted by a citizen inside her workplace in a Kuwaiti hospital.

Since the accident, the Facebook page of the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower has been following up on the matter and posting all developments related to the report the doctor has written against the fugitive perpetrator so far.
