A security source denied what was disseminated on social networks about the introduction of new fines by the Civil Status Sector of the Ministry of the Interior.

The source emphasized that this news is completely unfounded, and that the fact is that there are conciliation fees decided in accordance with Law No. 143, which has been applied since 1994 on matters of civil status for violators of the articles of this law, which are limited to the following cases:

1- Do not request the identity card within a period of 6 months from the date of reaching the legal age of (16 years).

2- Do not renew the DNI for a period of 3 months from its expiration date.

3- Do not modify the data of the DNI (marriage – divorce – profession – place of residence) within 3 months.

4- Not reporting the occurrence of the birth within 15 days.

The source explained that the law specified the cases of violations as an exhaustive measure, and resolved the legal fee that must be paid to reconcile with it, and that no administrative part intervenes in this.
