Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, chaired the meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Management of the Coronavirus Crisis, in which the ongoing efforts to face the crisis and the position to provide the vaccine were reviewed, with the participation of the ministers, committee members and interested officials.

Councilor Nader Saad, official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, announced that during the meeting it was approved to allocate one billion pounds of public reserves to face the spending aspects related to the Corona virus crisis.

For her part, Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, presented the interventions of the Egyptian Red Crescent to face the second wave of spread of the “Corona” virus, since the Society’s Emergency Operations Center provides food to affected families, distributes hygiene and personal protection tools and provides relief services in most cases. They need, in addition to conducting health education and organizing classes for pension beneficiaries, and continuing to provide sterilization and disinfection operations in vital places, as well as continuing to respond to emergencies and disasters.

The minister added that the association provides health services to the elderly in nursing homes, while expanding the provision of mobile services in the most needy areas, while continuing to provide fixed health services, and in terms of awareness of health, education is provided to students in schools and members of the association distribute Posters in vital places, as well as conducting health awareness campaigns in educational and care homes

The counselor of Social Solidarity pointed out that the association plays a prominent role in providing psychological and social support to children in the most needy areas, together with health convoys, in addition to providing psychological support to the elderly in residences.

The Minister also reviewed the position of postponement of insurance fees for tourism and aviation companies affected by the “Corona” virus, and its impact on the financial solvency of insurance, and the minister also presented emergency cash support total provided by the ministry during the last period, especially for groups affected by the crisis, as well as the elderly.
