Some websites and social networks circulated news about the suspension of studies in universities and institutes, with the postponement of the first semester exams for two weeks, to be held on January 30.

The Media Center of the Council of Ministers contacted the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which denied the news, confirming that it is not correct to suspend studies at universities and institutes by postponing the first semester exams for a period of two weeks to be held on January 30, highlighting the regularity of study in all universities and institutes at the level of the Republic, with the completion of exams on the dates set according to the calendar set for universities during the current academic year 2020/2021 , respecting all precautionary measures and observing the rules of social distancing to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.

In the same context, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said that there are daily monitoring committees to know the health status of students in universities at the republic level, and also emphasizes in all the need to continue applying all the precautionary measures adhering to sterilization and the use of masks, keeping in mind the rules of spacing. Social welfare among students, in addition to monitoring the preparation of all university hospitals and supplying them with strategic stocks of medicines and medical supplies to counteract the Coronavirus, as part of the state’s desire to preserve the health and safety of students and all members of the educational system.
