The government said that news about the closure of schools and universities in all governorates of the Republic circulated on websites and social media pages, starting in mid-November, in anticipation of the second wave of the coronavirus, which is incorrect.

According to a statement, the Media Center of the Council of Ministers contacted the Ministries of Education, Technical Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and these news were denied, and the two ministries confirmed that no decisions were issued in this regard.

The two ministries explained that the study is regular and continuous in all schools and universities naturally, and that there are daily monitoring committees in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals to determine the health status of the students in schools and universities nationwide, and highlighted the continuation of the application of all precautionary measures adhering to sterilization and the use of Masks, taking into account the rules of social distancing between students, in the context of the state’s desire to preserve the health and safety of students and all members of the educational system.
