Today, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly chaired the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Coronavirus Crisis Management, with the participation of several ministers and officials, through videoconferencing technology.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister confirmed that in recent days there was a notable increase in the number of infected, forcing this meeting to be held to discuss the measures that will be followed in the coming days to limit the spread of the virus.
Counselor Nader Saad, spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting witnessed discussions on a series of files, and it was emphasized that all New Year celebrations would be canceled, and that measures were taken to close any facilities to organize any celebration, in addition to the total ban on wedding tents and condolences and any gathering.
Emphasis was placed on stopping the events, celebrations or festivals during the next period, and the complete closure of the function rooms, and the total emphasis on all hotels with respect to the numbers specified in the wedding, and that they are only in places open.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister ordered to activate the immediate fine for offenders after completing their procedures, starting next Sunday, corresponding to January 3, 2021, to serve as a clear message that the State faces any violation of precautionary measures with the utmost severity and firmness.
The Prime Minister was assigned to follow up on the 50% commitment in restaurants and cafes, and intensify campaigns, in the most affected provinces, and it was agreed to apply an immediate fine for any infraction of establishments such as restaurants and cafes, in the amount of EGP 4,000 with the closure of the facility for a week, provided that the collection of fines begins next Sunday. In addition, if the violation is repeated, the closing period will be doubled.
