Gamal Mohamed Ali, deputy director of the management committee of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that Tarek Mostafa, the general coach of the Egyptian team, was surprised by the expiration of the validity period of his current passport.
The vice president of the commission indicated in statements on the country’s Eco channel that Hossam Al-Badri, the technical director of the Egyptian team, did not request an increase in his salary, given the existence of official contracts that regulate the matter.
Jamal Muhammad Ali said: “We were surprised that Tariq Mustafa’s passport had expired. He thought it would expire next year, but he went to renew it and then he will meet us tomorrow.”
The Egyptian team headed to Togo on Sunday, in preparation for a match between the two teams next Tuesday night in the fourth round of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
He continued: “We get visas in Togo and not in Egypt. Therefore, the expiration date of the passport was not noticed until hours ago, and he will join us and in a large proportion will be present at Monday’s session.”
He concluded: “Hossam Al-Badri did not ask for an increase in his salary. The signed contracts handle these matters. The contract provides for a specific increase at a specific time, but the technical director did not speak at all.”
