The Egyptian Football Association announced the formation of the second division (Premier B) for the upcoming 2020-2021 season, after adopting the new competition system after the end of the current season.
The five-year committee temporarily in charge of the Football Association’s management decided that 48 teams would participate in Premier B, provided the competition consists of three groups, and each group includes 16 teams.
Thus, the relegation has been canceled, since 4 clubs from the third division are promoted to Premier B, so that the group becomes 16 teams in the next season instead of 12 in the season ended.
After establishing a two-round league, the champions in each group are promoted to Premier League A directly at the end of the season without entering a promotion round or working with the old regulations.
The Football Association announced the end of registrations on November 21, 2020, while matches will begin on November 25, for the clubs to enter a new season.
The third division consists of 178 teams divided into 12 groups, with only the team in first place going to Premier League B.
As for the fourth division, it takes place between 352 clubs, with the registration for the competition ending on November 30, and the matches will begin in the first week of December.
It was decided to assign a group to the Sinai clubs, to encourage the North and South clubs to participate and revitalize football life there, provided that they are assigned a group in the third leg in the 2021-2022 season.
