The Saudi club Al-Taawon denied having negotiated with its current coach, Frenchman Patrice Carteron, during his inauguration of the Egyptian club Zamalek, stressing that it respects all clubs in general, and Zamalek in particular.

The Saudi club rejected attempts to discredit the relations between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, as well as any infringement of the club’s right after exercising its natural right in accordance with professional regulations.

Mortada Mansour, president of the Al-Zamalek club, harshly criticized the president of the Saudi Al-Taawon club, Muhammad Al-Qasim, after his tweet in which he wrote: “Whoever wants cooperation will convert”, referring to a contract with Carteron .

Addressing the president of the Al-Taawon club, Mansour said: “Oh, Muhammad, you misunderstand things. You are talking about Egypt and you have to speak politely about it, and you ignite a dispute between two countries and you play with fire.”

He added: “Zamalek is a great Egyptian club, just as we respect the people of Jeddah, Al Hilal and the rest of the clubs. You have to respect us. You kidnapped the coach with money. He spoke politely of Egypt and Zamalek.”

Mansour added: “I am addressing Mohammed bin Salman (the crown prince of Saudi Arabia), are you satisfied with what Muhammad Al-Qassem said on Twitter? We are not his slaves … Do you understand? This is the Zamalek club of 1911, is part of the history of Egypt, the Arab world and Africa “.
