Major General Atef Moftah, supervisor of the Grand Museum and the surrounding area, said in special statements he made to Masrawy on Wednesday that the experiment with the sun passing over the face of Ramses II at the Grand Egyptian Museum was successful.
Moftah added: Dr. Ahmed Awad presented this idea to me after studying it from an astronomical point of view. But I saw the need to study it in terms of engineering as well, and we continued to study it for a whole year until the implementation date came, and it succeeded with great success by confirming that the descendants of the pharaohs can restore the glories of the ancestors.
The Grand Museum supervisor added: We followed the sun’s rays, two years ago, and we did an initial experiment last year and it was successful with a percentage, then we followed the situation for the whole of last year until we were able to achieve an impressive result this year ; Especially since, for the last four days, we followed the movement of the sun’s rays on the face of the Ramses statue completely until this morning, and thank God the experiment was successful and we located the appropriate openings for precise perpendicularity.
And Moftah continued: This year is the beginning and, from next year, new measures will be taken that will promote the museum. The transfer of the two accreditations live each year.
The Grand Museum supervisor continued: It was important to take this step in the museum despite modern construction and construction, to confirm that we respect our civilization and its foundations and continue on its path.
