On Wednesday, the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issued an Emiri decree recommending the Deputy Chief of the National Guard, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as Crown Prince. According to the official Kuwaiti news agency “KUNA”.
For their part, the Al Sabah family blessed the recommendation of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the crown prince.
And Sheikh Meshaal Al-Sabah is the younger brother of the Emir of Kuwait.
Sheikh Meshaal, the seventh son of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, was born to his wife Maryam Mariet Al-Huwaila, in Kuwait in 1940, and grew up there, then studied in Great Britain, graduating in 1960 from the School of Hendon Police.
After graduation, Kuwait’s 10th Emir took on many security positions, making him one of the country’s top security figures, and he remained relatively far from media exposure.
Among the security positions that Sheikh Meshaal held was the presidency of the General Investigation Department from 1967 to 1980, when this apparatus was transformed by his hands into the Department of “State Security”, which still operates under this name.
Sheikh Meshaal continued to graduate from the Ministry of the Interior, before assuming the post of Deputy Chief of the National Guard with the rank of Minister, a position he still holds today.
