Following the release of the statement, the Cairo Film Festival held a red carpet of the Egyptian film “It” by Islam Al-Azzazi at the Grand Opera House in Egypt at 6 pm on Tuesday for its world premiere.
A second screening of the same film was also held at 9:30 pm Tuesday night at the We Theater at the Cairo Opera House.
The film revolves around Doria, a twenty-year-old woman who loses her forty-year-old husband, whom she loves in Cairo in the 1930s, in a context of political struggles and the popular movement to resist English tutelage over Egypt.
Doria enters a state of consciousness, after learning about the circumstances surrounding the murder of her husband, so she isolates herself within her home, which rotates, with her and with her, to reflect the swings of her conscience, and the loss of his soul outside the limits of the real and tangible, so the house becomes a stage for the manifestations of a bright, headstrong woman, yearning for welcome.
