The National Electoral Authority headed by Counselor Lashin Ibrahim, Vice President of the Court of Cassation, issued a decision inviting Egyptians to the House of Representatives elections, which will be held in two stages.

The decree, No. 52 of 2020, included dividing the two phases to include the first phase of 14 governorates, including (Giza, Fayum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, New Valley, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea , Alexandria and Matrouh).

The commission’s decision included that the elections for the first phase to vote Egyptians abroad would be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, corresponding to October 21, 22 and 23, and that they would be held indoors on Saturday and Friday. Sunday corresponding to October 24 and 25.

The results of the first phase will be announced no later than Sunday, November 1.

The runoff elections of the first phase for Egyptians abroad are held on Saturdays, Sundays and Monday corresponding to November 21, 22 and 23, and the run-off elections will be held at home on November 23 and 24, for what the National Electoral Authority announces the final results no later than Monday, November 30.

The second phase of the elections to the House of Representatives will take place in 13 governorates (Cairo, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Menoufia, Gharbia, Kafr El Sheikh, Sharkia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai and Sinai from the south).

The second-phase elections for Egyptians abroad will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, corresponding to November 4, 5 and 6, and will be held within Saturday and Sunday, corresponding to November 7 and 8, and the results They will be announced no later than Sunday, November 15.

The second round of the second phase for Egyptians abroad will take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, December 5, 6 and 7, and in the interior on Monday and Tuesday, December 7 and 8, and the Electoral Authority Nacional will announce the final results no later than Monday, December 14.

The decision of the “National Elections”, which I announced on Thursday, during an international press conference at the Egyptian Television Building, Maspero, occurred after reviewing the constitution, the Law that Regulates the Exercise of Political Rights promulgated by Law No. 45 of 2014, the Law of Parliament promulgated by Law No. 46 of 2014, and Law No. 198 of the year. 2017 on the National Electoral Authority, amended by Law No. 140 of 2020, and Law No. 174 of 2020 on the division of electoral districts of the House of Representatives, as well as the approval of the Board of Directors of the National Electoral Authority at its session held on September 10, 2020.
