Atalanta forward Dovan Zapata tried to poke fun at Milan veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the two teams’ match on Saturday’s matchday 18 of the Italian League, but received a shocking response.
According to the Italian website “Calcio Mercato”, the Colombian Zapata told the Swedish striker while awaiting the decision of the technical video “Var” on one of the games in which the Milan players demanded a penalty: “You cannot finish a match without receiving penalties .. Do you want to score? “Goal 13 (in this season’s league competition)?”
Ibrahimovic’s response was shocking, when he addressed Zapata, saying: “What are you talking about? You scored more goals than you have ever played in your life.”
After hearing “Ibra”, he turned away from Zapata without saying a word.
Calcio Mercato confirmed that Ibrahimovic’s words are correct, as the Swedish star has scored 498 goals in his career, while Zapata has only played 371 games so far.
The confrontation between Milan and its guest Atalanta ended, with the visitors winning by three unanswered goals, and Zapata assured, scoring the third goal.
