Tariq Diab comments on the Horn of Africa final

Tunisian soccer legend Tariq Diab spoke about the Horn of Africa final match, which will bring together Al-Ahly and Zamalek on the 27th of this month at the “Cairo Stadium”.

Diab said in a statement on the “beIN Sports” screen: “I hope the referee is up to the task and we celebrate the victory of the team I love.”

When asked about his favorite team, Diab did not reveal, saying: “I hope the team whose boss is my friend and I have played against him will win.”

On the chances of Al-Ahly and Zamalek winning the title, he replied: “Al-Ahly is collectively the best, but the victory is in favor of Egyptian and Arab football after the arrival of Al-Ahly and Zamalek.”

Diab concluded: “The African final will witness the emergence of Tunisian Ali Maaloul from Al-Ahly and Ferjani Sassi from Zamalek.”

Al-Ahly rose to the final scene after defeating Moroccan Wydad Casablanca, back and forth, with a score (5-1), instead, Zamalek reserved the final seat by beating Raja Casablanca (4-1) in the global.

Al-Ahly are looking for the ninth African title, since the red team has not achieved the continental championship since 2013, instead, the last African title for Zamalek was in 2002 after beating Raja Casablanca (1-0).
