Dr. Muhammad Awad Tajuddin, Advisor to the President for Health and Preventive Affairs, said that there is a clear and significant increase in oxygen consumption, either as a consequence of Coronavirus infected cases, or as a consequence of complications or problems that the winter period brings people with chronic chest diseases, and these are more, such as asthmatic bronchitis, allergies or pneumonia, for people without a crown.
Taj al-Din added in a telephone interview on the “This Morning” program of the “Extra News” channel, Sunday, that the cases of injuries that need to be admitted to hospitals have become more, and therefore they need to use oxygen , and as a consequence of the large number of cases that do not need hospitalization and are treated at home, but need oxygen at home, which indicates that increased oxygen production has begun.
He continued: “There are companies that were not producing or did not need to produce, because the quantities were sufficient. These companies have been opened in coordination with the Ministry of Health and are now producing more.”
He stressed that the amount of oxygen being pumped into hospitals, medical centers or even homes has increased, and explained that there is a strong recommendation to fully ensure that there is sufficient oxygen production when needed, and there are strong recommendations from President Abdel Fattah Al -Sisi that there is a strategic reserve of oxygen, either Gas or liquid, and the meeting with President El-Sisi yesterday witnessed the recommendation to provide oxygen concentrators that can extract oxygen from the atmosphere so that patients can use it .
