The Uruguayan star, Luis Suárez, spoke about the feeling of discomfort he felt when leaving the ranks of the Spanish soccer team Barcelona, as the Catalan club asked him to leave, before joining the ranks of Atlético de Madrid .
This occurred during Suárez’s statements to the press after the match in which Uruguay defeated its Chilean counterpart 2/1 on Thursday night (Friday morning GMT in the South American World Cup qualifiers, in which Suárez scored a goal penalty for your country).
“There were days when I cried because of the situation I was living in,” said Suarez, 33.
He added: “I was sent to train alone, away from the 22 players on the team. But my wife was the only one who saw my feelings of brokenness.”
Suárez, who had been close to moving to Juventus before the controversy that arose over the language test necessary to obtain Italian citizenship, made a good start with Atlético and scored two goals for the team in their match against Granada, which ended with Atlético winning 6/1 last September.
