A new study confirmed that the first 10 days after hospital discharge are considered the most dangerous for patients with the emerging “Corona” virus.
Britain’s “Daily Mail” newspaper said the study team examined about 2,200 “corona” patients who were treated at 132 hospitals in Virginia and were discharged from the hospital between March 1 and July 1 of last year. .
The results of the examination of these people’s cases were compared with approximately 1,600 patients with non-crown pneumonia and 3,500 patients with heart failure during the same time period.
The researchers found that people with “Corona” who receive hospital treatment are 40% more likely to receive it again or die from the virus within 10 days of their abandonment, compared to patients with pneumonia or failure cardiac.
However, 60 days after leaving the hospital, the risk of Corona patients returning or dying is much lower, according to the study.
The team from the American “Michigan Medical Center” said: “The results provide evidence that doctors and nurses must be incredibly diligent in following up coronavirus patients in the first days after discharge from hospital.”
For his part, study co-author Dr. Theodore Iwashina said: “For many patients, (Corona) appears to cause a number of serious problems within days of discharge from the hospital. But very few doctors and hospitals are aware of the need to follow up and help these patients. “
And the combined data showed that the total number of coronavirus infections worldwide had surpassed 7.78 million as of Thursday morning.
The data also showed that the number of people in recovery is close to 3.44 million, while the total of deaths exceeded 1,730 thousand cases.
