An official source from the Zamalek club confirmed that the board of directors is awaiting a definitive response from the former Portuguese coach, Giusfaldo Ferreira, to return to a second term to lead the team that succeeds French Patrice Carteron.
Carteron had left Zamalek’s training after requesting payment of the penalty clause and termination of the contract, and signed a contract to coach the Saudi cooperation for two seasons.
Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek Club, has previously stated that negotiations are underway with a senior coach who consults with his assistants before making the final decision.
“The Zamalek administration is awaiting Ferreira’s response in the next few hours,” the source said in his remarks to “Yallakora.”
“Ferrera is currently studying everything related to the team, roster and status of Zamalek in the African Champions League, as well as in the Premier League competition,” he added.
Ferreira is also communicating with his assistants to seek their opinion on his reestablishment as head of the team’s technical direction ”, he added.
“In a few hours, Ferreira will notify Zamalek officials of his decision, if there is an apology on his part,” he concluded. “There are some proposed names that are being negotiated, and the closest alternative is the Argentine Calderón.”
