He added that the international cooperation departments of the Ministry of Justice and the Public Ministry, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, completed this file and included in it all the cases and sentences handed down against the fugitive defendant, and all this includes the reasons for these sentences.

He explained that he fears that the case of fugitive Muhammad Ali will become a political matter, as it happened with the fugitive Brotherhood Muhammad Mahsoub in Italy, and the Italian authorities refused to hand him over despite the Egyptian request.

He noted that the Egyptian record is solid, and there is interest and follow-up to deliver the fugitive defendant who incites day and night against Egypt, in addition to being convicted in criminal cases.

The Spanish Ministry of Justice revealed the details of Egypt’s request to extradite the fugitive contractor, Muhammad Ali, for his involvement in crimes of fraud and money laundering.

The Ministry of Justice said that the Egyptian embassy presented in 2019 a request for the extradition of the contractor Mohamed Ali, who has lived in Barcelona for two years and his case is still pending in the Spanish National Court.

It indicated that the Egyptian Judicial Power has confirmed that the businessman is guilty of tax fraud valued at 135 million Egyptian pounds (8.4 million dollars) and laundered about 4 million Egyptian pounds, and the allegations are related to the purchase and sale of buildings and vehicles between 2006 and 2018.

For its part, The New York Times revealed that fugitive contractor Muhammad Ali will be extradited to Egypt, where the court, Muhammad Ali, gave him 45 days to present his case and the reasons for not deporting him to his country.

The newspaper noted that Muhammad Ali had so far been unable to respond and rejected the charges against him in an email, claiming they were an attempt to punish him for his activities in opposition to the regime in Egypt, as he described it.

The newspaper confirmed that the decision to hand over the fugitive contractor has been made true because of his weak fundamentals and his inability to present what he says is politically persecuting him.
