British press reports revealed on Thursday that Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, a Liverpool player, will not extend his contract with the “Reds”.
The 28-year-old’s contract with Liverpool will expire in June 2023, after he was brought in from Rome in the summer of 2017 in a deal estimated at 48 million euros.
The British newspaper “Express”, according to the newspaper “The Athletic”, reported that Liverpool had a problem in terms of renewing Mohamed Salah’s contract, which would force German coach Juergen Klopp to leave the player.
The newspaper added that despite Salah receiving a weekly salary of £ 200,000, in addition to the club management’s desire to improve the contract of the owner of the number 11 jersey, Mo will not be extending his contract in the near future.
The newspaper specified that Juergen Klopp will decide whether to give the green light to Salah’s departure in order to obtain large funds to sign another player and rebuild again on the front line.
And Liverpool will have a difficult task, as revealed by the British newspaper about presenting a new contract for Salah if the season ends without reaching an agreement, because then the player will only have two years before his contract ends, which means that his long-term future will be elsewhere.
The newspaper stressed that the Liverpool administration, specifically sporting director Michael Edwards, would not make a decision contrary to Jurgen Klopp’s opinion.
The last period witnessed the ambiguity about Salah’s future, especially after his dialogue with the Spanish newspaper “AS” when the Liverpool star opened the door for him to leave for one of the two giants of Spain, be it Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Mohamed Salah is considered one of the most important Liverpool of the last three years, since the Egyptian player managed to win the Premier League scorer award for two consecutive years, specifically the season (2017-2018) – (2018-2019 ).
