Books – Youssef Afifi:
Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, announced the adoption of a series of residence controls and requirements for hotels for national tourism, in coordination between the ministries of Tourism and Antiquities, and Health and Population, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
Controls were as follows:
1- Conditions for granting a certificate of physical fitness:
– The need to provide each hotel with a clinic and a doctor at the hotel, in continuous coordination with the Ministry of Health in this regard.
– Ensure the quality of the personal protective equipment and sterilization materials used.
– Do not deal only with companies approved by the Ministry of Health and Population.
– Form joint work teams between the Chamber and the infection control department of the Ministry of Health to go through the hotels.
– Make sure the requirements are met and ready to go.
Do not celebrate parties or weddings inside the hotel.
Prohibition of all kinds of nighttime activities at the hotel.
– Assign a small hotel or hotel floor in each spa for quarantine, confirmed and suspected cases.
– Continuously continue conducting rapid tests for workers in tourist portals in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population.
2- Conditions of the inmates:
Install a sterilizer at the hotel entrance.
Completion of guest registration procedures electronically or with single-use pens.
Sterilize guests’ luggage before arriving and leaving the hotel.
Measure guest temperatures each time they enter the premises.
Provide hand sanitizer in the reception area and various facilities at all times.
Clean all public areas regularly.
3- Conditions of hotel workers:
Commitment to a maximum employment rate of 50% of employment.
Take a quick look at workers returning from vacations before receiving work, as long as the interruption period for workers in coastal cities to get vacations is at least 60 days between each vacation.
– Commitment to the daily measurement of the temperature of the workers and the presence of housing for workers in the hotel.
Provide isolation areas for infected cases as they arise.
Educate workers on the information that all basic preventive measures against the emerging crown virus should cover.
4- Hotel restaurant operation controls:
Ban the buffet service entirely, relying on predefined menus.
Ban on serving hookahs and measuring temperatures for restaurant visitors.
– Leave a distance of not less than two meters between the dining room tables and one meter between each person and another at the table, taking into account families with a maximum of 6 chairs at the large table.
Dependency of single-use cutlery as much as possible.
– Put sterilizers and sterilizing wipes on each dining table, and post educational instructions throughout the restaurant.
5- Conditions of internal supervision and laundry services:
Daily disinfection of rooms using the tools for the infection prevention cart.
Follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
– Clean and sterilize all concrete points every hour in public places and public restrooms, using disinfectants decided by the Ministry of Health.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities announced that the hotels will operate at a maximum rate of 25%, which includes the daily use of the total capacity of the hotel until June 1, provided that the operation begins with a maximum of 50% of the hotel capacity from June 1st.
This occurred during a meeting of Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, today, to adopt a series of hotel accommodation regulations for domestic tourism, in coordination between the ministries of Tourism and Antiquities, Health and Population, and in accordance with the guidelines from the World Health Organization in the presence of Dr. Khaled Al Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, and Mohamed Manar Enaba, Minister of Civil Aviation.
