Books – Muhammad Nassar:
The second wave of the emerging coronavirus began to affect children and young people of both sexes, after their infection rates during the first wave were almost non-existent.
The increase in infections among children and young people led the government, represented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to allocate hospitals to isolate children only to face the increase in the number of those affected by the epidemic.
The symptoms of the Corona virus in children are different from those of the elderly and the young, as Dr. Hala Fouad, Director of the Japanese Children’s Specialized Hospital, said that the symptoms of Corona in children focus on several main symptoms.
Fouad added to Masrawy that among the most common symptoms of the virus among infected children are high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, pneumonia and gastroenteritis.
And he continued: “The issue of losing the sense of smell or taste because these symptoms are not perceptible for them, especially in babies and young people.”
Dr. Amal Al-Bishlawi, a professor of pediatrics and hematology at Kasr Al-Ayni, said children suffer from mild Corona symptoms compared to the elderly.
Al-Bashlawi added to Masrawy: In the children, they suffered from mild fever, vomiting, or pneumonia.
And he continued: “The most dangerous are the newborns who carry the disease before birth. I had newborns with Corona and two daughters whose mothers had contracted Corona during pregnancy.”
And he continued: “The children were born with Corona, anemia, enlarged liver and spleen and zero, a girl who had enlarged liver and spleen and broken blood, and she died, and the tests confirmed that she had Corona … and the second had simple anemia and a slight enlargement of the spleen, which was relieved. “
And he concluded: “In an older girl, she suffers from an enlarged liver and spleen, and after treatment, she improved, but her spleen is still larger than normal.”
The World Health Organization said research indicates that the chances of children and adolescents contracting the Covid-19 infection and the possibility of spreading the infection are no different than those of other age groups.
The evidence available to date also indicates that children and adolescents are less likely to develop serious complications from the disease, but this is still possible in this age group.
Handling Instructions for Injured Children
Children and adolescents should follow the same self-quarantine and self-isolation guidelines if they are at risk of infection or develop symptoms.
It is especially important for children to avoid close contact with the elderly and others at high risk of developing serious complications of the disease.
And a team of researchers in the UK shed light on common symptoms that indicate children are infected with the emerging corona virus, with researchers finding that children who were infected with “Covid-19” often displayed symptoms such as fatigue. , headache and fever, while some also developed a cough. Or they lose their sense of taste or smell.
And the US Center for Disease Control has identified headaches as a symptom of infection in children.
The center said symptoms also include: coughing, stuffy or runny nose, a new loss of sense of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, and stomach pain.
