The journalist Ahmed Schubert revealed what was happening behind the scenes of the African Football Confederation (CAF) and the confusion that clouded some of the decisions and proposals about the date of the Zamalek matches and the hope in the second leg of the semifinals of the African Champions League and the final match.
Schubert said in Ontime Sports: “The CAF will decide on its own today, Friday, the date of the Al-Malik and Al-Raja matches and the Champions League final.”
He continued: “The Zamalek match will be played on November 4 and the final on November 27 in Egypt.”
He concluded his speech by noting that the CAF would have officially announced the dates on Thursday, but an official from the CAF emergency committee caused confusion and suggested postponing all the games indefinitely.
Al-Ahly had qualified for the final of the African Champions League in the current version, awaiting what would explain the semi-final second leg between Zamalek and Moroccan Raja to see a competition for the brown princess.
