Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville said Egyptian international Mohamed Salah is on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world.
Neville indicated, during his statements to English “Sky Sports”, that “Salah is on another level with Liverpool.”
He continued: “There was a point in the match, while I was watching Salah and I was just thinking that this player was 4 years ago when he came to Liverpool and scored 40 goals, I said this is strange. He will not be able to live with that.”
He added: “But then he scored continuously for two or three years.”
He continued: “I see Salah as a fighter on the field, and this reminds me of what happened between Cristiano Ronaldo and Rooney in the middle of the first decade of the current century, as is the situation between Salah and Mani.”
And he added: “I think Salah will finish above Mane, not because of lowering Mane, who is a great player like Rooney, but because of the difference between players like Salah and Ronaldo who have something, it makes them want to go home for the night and think how to be the best in the world. “
He continued: “While Rooney or Mane feel that the team must win, and they must do their best and fight for the team, Salah does not.”
Neville pointed out that with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi nearing the end of their careers, there is no reason why Salah should not go on and show that he is one of the best players in the world.
