The website of the United States’ North Korea (38 North) reported that photos of a train believed to belong to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un were taken at his complex in Wonsan.
Saturday’s website report comes amid speculation about Kim’s ill health, after missing public events, including her late grandfather’s birthday on April 15.
Satellite images, according to the site, showed a “nearly 250-meter train” stopping at the train station at a complex owned by Kim in Wonsan, “at least since April 21.”
38 North reported that the train was not on the 15th of this month, but it was on April 21 and 23, adding that the railway station “is used exclusively by the Kim family.”
The report added that although the train “does not establish the whereabouts of the North Korean leader or indicate anything about his health, it does add confirmation to reports that Kim is staying in the elite area on the east coast of the country.”
The communist leadership in Pyongyang strictly controls the information about Kim and his family.
The US news channel CNN reported a few days ago that the United States was studying intelligence that Kim was “in grave danger” after the surgery, but United States President Donald Trump later denied it.
On Sunday, Yonhap News reported that South Korean officials in Seoul also declined to confirm the reports, saying there were no unusual indications from the north and that Kim was supposed to remain in Wonsan for unspecified reasons.
