The Ministry of Health and Population announced on Saturday that 499 people recovering from the coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, raising the total of those who have recovered from the virus to 122291 cases to date.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, adviser to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesman for the ministry, stated that 887 new cases were registered that were positive in laboratory analysis of the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures, investigation and an examination that the ministry carries out in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, indicating the death of 54 new cases.
Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Saturday is 155,507 cases, including 122,291 cases that have been cured and 8,527 deaths.
