The Egyptian Meteorological Authority revealed the expected meteorological phenomena today, Monday, December 7, 2020, warning of light to moderate rains (approximately 30%) in some areas of (Alexandria – Matrouh – Salloum), and also warned against activity due to winds sand and dust churning in some areas of Greater Cairo, the canal cities and northern Upper Egypt, noting that the winds are occasionally moderate, causing sand and dust in some areas of the northern and lower Egyptian coasts.
The “authority” stated, during its statement, that Monday’s weather is daytime; Warm weather in Cairo and Lower Egypt, and the winds are active, causing dust in some areas and hot weather on the northern coasts, and the winds are moderate at times, exciting sand and dust, and there is a warm climate in the South Sinai, and winds are moderate in the Gulf of Suez, leading to maritime disturbances AND warm weather in northern Upper Egypt, and strong winds exciting sand and dust, and warm weather in southern Upper Egypt. The Met added that the weather is Monday night; Cold weather in Cairo and Lower Egypt, and cold weather prevails in the northern coasts and cold weather in South Sinai, and very cold weather prevails in the north and south of Upper Egypt.
Regarding the technical description of the meteorological maps, the Meteorological Authority pointed out that the north of the country is affected by the extension of an aerial depression, while the south of the country is affected by the extension of an aerial height.
