The torrents and rains that hit Alexandria on Friday, caused the drowning of the Al-Raml Children’s Hospital, making it difficult to move in and out of the hospital.
The sanitation operating rooms had received a call from the officials of the Raml Children’s Hospital of the Ministry of Health indicating that the entrance and the courtyard of the hospital were flooded with rainwater.
In a related context, rainwater flooded the units of the second Abyss clinics, east of Alexandria, as medical personnel were detained inside the clinics due to the high water level.
And the nucleus of the “rest of the broom” hit the coast of Alexandria, in the early hours of this Friday morning, with torrential rains – reaching the level of torrents – and winds from the southwest and a sharp drop in temperatures.
The continuous torrential rains so far flooded the streets of the coastal city, while the sewers and sewer stations were unable to absorb the amounts of water in the exclusive and popular neighborhoods.
The Alexandria Sewerage Company paid for 180 “suction” cars, switches and emergency equipment in all neighborhoods of the governorate to suck up accumulated rainwater.
And he participated in the work of cleaning rainwater from the streets, in addition to sanitation, other 3 parties, which are the neighborhoods, the two drinking water companies and Nahdet Misr for environmental services and hygiene.
In a related context, Reda Al-Ghandour, the official spokesperson for the Alexandria Port Authority, announced the continuation of the movement of ships and vessels, and the shipping and handling of containers in a normal and regular manner without the influence of increased waves.
Major General Mohamed Al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, announced the increase in the level of maximum preparedness and emergency in all executive bodies, to deal with the instability of the weather conditions.
