Dr. Khaled Qassem, Deputy Minister for Local Development and official spokesperson for the ministry, confirmed that directives have been issued to governorates to reduce the number of employees as a precaution in light of facing the emerging corona virus.

Qassem told Masrawy today that these directives were issued to the governorates two weeks ago, to reduce the number of employees and to emphasize that all precautionary and preventive measures are taken to face the spread of the Corona virus, the main of which is the concern about social distancing and avoiding overcrowding, as well as the total commitment to wearing masks.

This comes in the implementation of the periodic book issued by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for all ministries, governorates, directorates and government departments, which stipulated reducing the number of employees in the workplace giving priority to the owners of chronic diseases and determining the numbers in accordance with the requirements of the work interest and in a way that does not affect the progress of the work and the services provided to the citizens.

The periodic book also stipulated, in its second article, to emphasize the application of all precautionary and preventive measures against the virus in all government and private facilities, public and private transport, subways, railways, mass transport, tariffs and others.
