Said Wahbi, spokesman for the Moroccan Raja, confirmed that his team was minutes away from losing the league title, but Al-Ain’s determination was the deciding factor for his team at the end of the match.
Wehbe told Sada Al-Balad channel that it was the determination of the players that gave his team the Moroccan League title after defeating the Moroccan army in the final moments.
Raja won the Moroccan League title after defeating the Royal Army with two goals per goal, in a match on matchday 30 of the competition.
Wehbe added that his team will rest after the Moroccan League title is decided, and after that, preparations will begin to face Zamalek in the African Champions League, starting next Wednesday.
Zamalek will face Moroccan Raja on October 18, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League.
A Raja spokesperson clarified that any interview has its own nature and its own rituals, and winning the Moroccan League has nothing to do with facing Zamalek in the African Champions League.
He continued: “Zamalek will be welcome in Morocco and we seek to present a good image of Arab football.”
Wehbe concluded his remarks: “We have no official information about Ismaili’s match in the Arab Championship.”
