The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation announced that a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Water Resources and Irrigation of “Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia” was held, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Africa, with the participation of observers from the members of the African Union, the European Union and the Bureau of the United States of America, in order to discuss how to relaunch negotiations on the great dam of the Ethiopian Renaissance.
During the meeting, Egypt highlighted the importance of implementing the decisions of the African Union Bureau meetings by reaching a legally binding agreement on the filling and operation of the Renaissance Dam and achieving the common interests of the three countries and ensuring their interests in the water.
The meeting ended with a decision that the Sudanese brotherhood, as the country that holds the rotating presidency of the meetings of the three countries, calls a one-week meeting with the aim of completing the compilation and review of the Renaissance Dam agreement, which The three countries had started to prepare during the last round of negotiations, in order to Consultation on the best way to manage the negotiations during the next period.
