Today marks the anniversary of the departure of the great Egyptian artist Ahmed Zaki, nicknamed the Black Tiger, who said goodbye to our world at 55 on March 27, 2005, after a fight against cancer.

Ahmed Zaki, “the emperor”, left an eternal mark on the cinema screen, as critics consider him an exceptional talent, as he managed to play difficult roles and joined them.

On the anniversary of his death, RT sheds light on images from his life and milestones in his artistic career:

Ahmed Zaki was born on November 18, 1949 in the city of Zagazig in Sharkia Governorate, and obtained a BA from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Department of Acting and Directing in 1973 with a degree of excellence, after which he began a successful artistic career over a period of 32 years.

He married artist Hala Fouad in 1983, and as a simple dark young man he achieved that artistic credibility that made most of his viewers look at him.

His first appearance was in the play Hamada and Maha in 1967 while in high school, while his first appearance on the movie screen was in the film “My Son” in 1972 opposite artist Farid Shawky.

Ahmed Zaki’s artistic balance reached some 55 films, two series and three plays. Among his most important works are the play “The school of troublemakers”, “The grown children” and “Our children in London”.
