Saudi club Al-Taawon signed Angolan winger Ari Babel to a two-year deal after the player came close to joining Zamalek.
Zamalek included Ari Babel when signing him via e-mail, as revealed by the player’s agent, but the player came out about 3 weeks ago with statements that Zamalek did not give him his salary and that Amir Mortada Mansour does not respond to his calls (for details from here).
Amir Mortada responded to the Angolan player’s statements that Babel is not a Zamalek club player because he did not come to Cairo from scratch to complete the contract, and that the club is the one with the right to announce deals.
The French Patrice Carteron, former technical director of Zamalek and current of the Saudi cooperation team, was the secret to convert the Ari Babel compass from Egypt to Saudi Arabia, where he requested a contract with him to support the ranks of Diabetes Al-Qassim.
Al-Taawon Club issued a statement on its Twitter account: “The club’s management has agreed on the recommendation of the French coach, Patrice Carteron, with the Angolan midfielder, I see Babel, 26, the first Angolan player of August.”
The statement from the Saudi team added: “I see Babel as a cooperation contract that extends for the next two seasons, with the preference to renew one more season.
Babel is 26 years old and the Zamalek club would include him in a free transfer after his contract with his Angolan club expired on August 1.
